Mr. Money's Helpful Hints

Vacation / Relaxation Page
Just when you thought you had it all covered, you realize you have to have some money put aside to pay for your vacation.

  • Do you take regular vacations each year? How often do you go away on these vacations? Do you take a couple of short vacations or a long stay? How do you usually pay for vacations? Do you put money away up front, or put it on the credit card and pay it later?
  • Let's think about airfares, hotels, and clothing that we might spend to go on the trip. This can be a big expenditure each year and one we enjoy but don't always think about as far as how it affects our monthly cash flow.
  • How about going out to movies, or renting movies? Don't you hate to get those late fees? I seem to get them all the time.
  • How about allowances? Do you give the kids an allowance each week? How much is that allowance?
  • How about sports or activities for the kids, anyone involved in after school programs where you might have to buy uniforms and special equipment. How many months a year are the kids involved in something like that. How about yourself, do you find yourself with a certain hobby that might cost money. Any other special activities you might attend for recreational purposes.
  • How about hobbies? Do you have certain hobbies that you spend money on, or other recreational activities?
  • How about books and magazines? Do you make regular trips to the Borders Bookstore, or to Barnes and Noble?
